Below is a description of the Ranch House, given by the owners themselves…

The home is enclosed on 3 sides with a redwood deck.  Walking in the back door, there is a large laundry/mud room with sink for cleanup; storage for supplies, coats and boots.  Dark vari-colored slate begins here and goes thought the adjoining kitchen, halls and bathrooms.  To the right, a door leads to a double car garage with hookups for 2 freezers; shelving for storage and setup for compressor.

The aforementioned kitchen looks out over the front yard through 3 tall windows, letting in natural light.  White cabinets and an island for extra counter space and storage complete this room.  Through an arched doorway, you enter the slate dining/entry area of the next living room which also boasts large windows for light and a door leading onto the deck.  Carpet and a fan make this a nice visiting area.  Going back towards the kitchen, a left turn takes you to the hall and master bedroom in the West side of the home.  A walk-in closet is off the hallway and a full bathroom with the slate, once again, being used in the shower enclosure.  This bath and closet serves the master bedroom and another room the same size, presently being used as an office, but which could be another bedroom.  Office area has latest fibre optic internet service.  Passing through the office one enters a landing which leads to a second 3/4 Bath with storage area and a shower.  Back at the landing, downstairs leads to a small, fully finished family area and a bedroom with 10 foot ceilings and large windows for egress.  There is a small pellet stove in the family room which provides heat for the whole area as well as for upstairs.  Next, is a large room presently set up as a woodworking area, featuring a lot of storage area, including shelves.  There is a small sewing room next door and this leads into the basement of the original ranch home where the furnace and water softener are located.  This area is used for food storage and for other storage as well.  

Back at the top of the stairs, at the landing once again, a door leads out onto a small, covered redwood deck and the landscaped backyard.  Up the stairs is a large family room area 24′ by 24′ with 2 bay windows overlooking the backyard and 2 other large windows looking out to the East with a beautiful view of majestic Elkhorn Peak just off the East border of the ranch.  There is carpet in this area, down the stairs and down the stairs to the basement as well.  A large fireplace with an insert on the south wall provides for cozy nights of down time!  The rock for the fireplace was gathered on the ranch itself and compliments the 10′ to 13′ Vaulted Ceilings in the room.

The home is finished in warm, earthy tones and is welcoming to all, both summer and winter.  Much detail was applied to finished wood work and windows in each room.

A Central Vacuum services all parts of the home, making cleaning fast and easy!  The yard is fully landscaped with gardens of perennials, pine and leafy trees and green grass!
